Athena's mission is to redefine female-focused fitness and build community through education about what it means to love our bodies and live our best lives. Our team is essential to that mission, bringing passion, and individual experience to every moment.

Rachelle Ames

Rachelle is a Les Mills Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She was born and raised in the PNW and has lived in the Olympia area for the last 20 years. Her passion for health and fitness began about 15 years ago after hitting a holistic bottom and making a decision to live a healthier and more fulfilling life. Her early fitness journey ranged from practicing Taekwondo to training for and competing in bodybuilding competitions. Although bodybuilding competitions were not a path she chose to continue, the experience left with her an invaluable education about fitness and nutrition that has stuck throughout her life.  Her fitness journey has led her to her current enthusiasm for group fitness, weight training, practicing yoga, and playing tennis. Rachelle believes that caring for our emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and physical selves is the most important thing we can do in order to experience authentic happiness and joy even throughout the many challenges life will surely bring. 

She is passionate about holistic personal growth, self care, and dogs (especially dogs who are in helpless situations and need to be rescued).

She is wildly happy when she trusts the Universe and feels the contentment that being present brings.

She feels most confident using her education and expertise at her day job even though it is largely spent in cubicles and conference rooms.

She is terrified of spiders.

She never grows old of fart jokes and laughter.

She is inspired by people who practice healthy discipline in their lives and learn to balance this with occasional pleasures in order to live life to its fullest. 

 

Education/Credentials/Certifications

  • Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy
  • Certified Les Mills Fitness Instructor in BODYATTACK®.
