Meet Our Team

Athena's mission is to redefine female-focused fitness and build community through education about what it means to love our bodies and live our best lives. Our team is essential to that mission, bringing passion, and individual experience to every moment.

Rachel Bolt

Rachel is a born and raised Olympia gal who has a big place in her heart for Montana. She graduated from Capital High School in 2007 where she participated in volleyball, tennis, and cheerleading. After high school she attended University of Montana in Missoula, MT. While there she studied exercise science, health and human performance, and psychology. She graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Communication Studies. Rachel met her biggest supporter, best friend, and husband Grant while at UM. They got married in 2012 and moved back to Olympia in 2013. Together Grant and Rachel love craft beer (they actually own a brewery in Tumwater), their puppy Perle, being active - especially outside, and their newest and favorite part of life are their twin daughters Hazel and Gwen who joined their family in July 2019. Rachel loves time with her family and friends, volleyball (both coaching and playing), stand up paddle boarding with Perle, snowboarding, cooking, local coffee, and a good book on a rainy day. She has worked in the fitness industry since 2012 as a group fitness instructor and Personal Trainer. Her favorite thing about working in fitness is being a part of the growth and change in peoples' lives not just physically, but getting to be a part of peoples' journeys as they gain strength, knowledge, confidence, and health.

She is passionate about mother/daughter health. She was introduced to fitness and specifically group fitness by attending classes with her step-mom. She modeled working out as part of life and invited her to join her. Her mom and grandma also valued being active, especially outside, and took her on many hikes and adventures from a young age. She thinks the mother/daughter relationship has so much power to shape how we view and value ourselves and our bodies. Now that she has two daughters of her own, she wants to continue building a legacy of healthy, strong women.

She is wildly happy when she gets to be active with people she loves. Also listening to Hazel and Gwen laugh, babble, and giggle, and watching them grow and learn.

She feels most confident  when she looks at her girls.

She is terrified of getting so caught up in the "doing" of life that she misses out on the "being". We are not humanDOINGS, we are humanBEINGS.

She never grows old of  telling people our twins have two different birthdays but are born only four minutes apart.

She is inspired by people who live authentically, pursue their passions, and light fires in others along the way. She's so thankful for the people in her life (coaches, friends, family) who have modeled authenticity and passion, and by doing so lit a fire in her.
