Our Story

Opened 43 days before the world shut down. Still here.

Athena opened in Olympia in February 2020. Six weeks later, everything closed. We adapted, we stayed, and we’re still here: built by people who care deeply about people, and carried by a community that believes in what we’re doing.

why athena

How you move matters. It isn’t everything.

We started Athena because no one in our community was offering what we needed. Here, strength training sits alongside nutrition, recovery, and community, because lasting health takes all of it.

Who it’s for

Centered on women. Open to everyone.

Athena is centered on women. Our programming, education and recovery are designed around women’s bodies and women’s experiences. Everyone is welcome, and our restrooms are all-gender.

Bring your kids, too. We have a kids’ room, and little ones are welcome right beside you.

our mission

Redefining what fitness and wellness can be for women.

Building strength, community and belonging through education about what it means to live in and care for our bodies.

our vision

A world where every woman is at home in her body.

What we value

What we stand for.

Prioritize Equity

Movement is for every body. We remove the barriers, cost among them, that keep women out.

Honor Well-being

We listen to our bodies’ wisdom, respecting when to push forward and when to pull back.

Empower and Inspire

We act as catalysts for confidence, helping women live their best lives, defined by no one but themselves.

Pursue Growth

We never stop learning, because our community deserves what we know now, not what we knew then.

Have Fun + Spread Joy

Movement is a source of pleasure and a way to care for our bodies, never punishment.

Give Back

We look beyond our own walls to support and enrich the community that sustains us.

Develop the Best Team, Ever

We invest in the people who are Athena to our members, so those who create belonging feel it themselves.

Founder · Tiffany Jones

Meet Tiffany.

I opened Athena after living through a debilitating illness and finding my way back through movement, nutrition, self-care and community. It changed my life, and Athena is how I share it.

I have a Master’s in Teaching. I’ve coached fitness since 2007 and been a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner since 2017.

Outside Athena, I lead The Liberated Leader, where I teach breathwork, tantra and embodied leadership.
