Athena's mission is to redefine female-focused fitness and build community through education about what it means to love our bodies and live our best lives. Our team is essential to that mission, bringing passion, and individual experience to every moment.

Blake Brady

Blake feels comfortable stepping into many different roles in life but never expected fitness instructor to be one of them. After experiencing two spinal fusion surgeries that have left nearly her entire spine fused she promised to never take her body for granted again and found fitness as a way to reclaim it. Having spent the majority of her career in the bar and restaurant industry, Blake found BodyCombat just 5 years ago as a way to simultaneously build strength and release the stresses of being in the hospitality industry full time (seriously though, tip those service industry folks).

She has lived in Europe twice, studied philosophy at The Evergreen State College and she has a 10 year old pit bull named Audio. When you come to her BodyCombat class she wants you to feel confident, find your fire and never take yourself too seriously.

She is passionate about connection, learning by experience and staying curious.
 
She is wildly happy in her apiary and foreign places alike. Or when she can save a houseplant from the brink of death.
 
She feels most confident when she’s surrounded by supportive friends and family.
 
She is terrified of the apocalypse, mostly because she’s absurdly unprepared.
 
She never grows old of the awkward moments in life, and those with the quick wit to tackle them.
 
She is inspired by those who make waves and aren’t afraid to speak up.
