The consumer health data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it
Consumer health data is information linked to you that reveals your past, present or future physical or mental health status. At Athena that is:
- Injury history, past surgeries, and physical limitations you tell us about
- Health conditions, medications, and pregnancy, where you choose to tell us
- Your answers to our intake questions· Your answers to screening questions for recovery services· Body composition measurements, where you ask us to take them
- Movement and readiness assessment results
- Anything about your health that you tell a coach, trainer or member of staff
- Which classes, training sessions and recovery services you use, to the extent that reveals something about your health
We collect it for these purposes, and use it only for these purposes:
- To deliver the classes, personal training and recovery services you have asked for, safely
- To program appropriately for you, and to adapt an exercise to an injury or limitation
- To decide whether a recovery service is appropriate for you to use at Athena, based on what you have told us
- To respond to a medical emergency at the studio
- To keep records we are required to keep, and to deal with an incident, claim or complaint2. Where we get it
- Directly from you, on an intake form, in a booking system questionnaire, or in conversation with a coach or trainer
- From our booking and membership system, where you enter it yourself
- From observations your coach or trainer records during a session, such as a movement limitation
What we share
Where we share consumer health data, we share the same categories listed in Section 1, limited to what the recipient needs for the purpose.
We do not sell consumer health data.
Who we share it with
- Athena coaches, trainers and staff. Only what that person needs in order to train you or supervise your use of a service safely.
- Mindbody. Information you enter into the booking and membership system, including intake and screening answers. Mindbody acts as Athena’s processor and stores Athena’s records on Athena’s instructions.
- Emergency services. What is needed in the moment, to respond to a medical emergency.
- Athena’s legal, insurance and professional advisers. Only what is relevant to an incident, claim or legal obligation.A practitioner who licenses treatment space from Athena is not covered by this policy. They operate their own independent practice, they hold their own client records, and Athena does not receive their clients’ health information.
